Not a transport operator

  • ShareMiles connects members already planning compatible journeys so they can travel together and share eligible ride costs.
  • ShareMiles does not employ Hosts, operate vehicles, provide taxi services or guarantee transportation.
  • ShareMiles connects private individuals for peer-to-peer trip cost sharing. We do not provide transportation services, operate as a taxi or chauffeur service, employ Hosts, operate a fleet, or guarantee trip completion.

Cost sharing, not commercial fares

  • Ride contributions help share the actual cost of the ride. They are not commercial fares or payment for professional transportation.
  • Ride contributions are intended only to share eligible journey costs such as fuel, tolls and reasonable vehicle expenses. Hosts must not make a profit.

User verification

  • Email and mobile verification badges indicate that a member completed those verification steps. They do not constitute background checks, government ID verification, or insurance validation.

Travel risk and insurance

  • Intercity travel involves inherent risks including traffic, weather, and mechanical issues. Members travel at their own discretion and responsibility.
  • Hosts while driving are solely responsible for licensing, vehicle condition, insurance, PUC and compliance with applicable laws when sharing a trip.
  • ShareMiles does not guarantee that ordinary insurance covers a particular trip. Members should confirm adequate insurance before traveling.

No warranty

  • The platform is provided as-is. We do not warrant uninterrupted service, error-free listings, or the conduct of any member.
  • These statements do not claim that ShareMiles is legally exempt, licensed or government-approved.

Third-party services

  • Maps, SMS, and hosting providers may be used to deliver the service. Their terms and availability may affect your experience.
